Ping G Le2
Ping announced the G Le2 family, clubs designed specifically for women that include the latest in technological advancements and materials plus less weight and more custom fitting options.

“The G Le2 represents our continued commitment to providing women golfers of every skill level with premium, high-performance equipment optimized to their swing speeds,” said Stacey Pauwels, PING Executive Vice President and the granddaughter of PING founders Karsten and Louise Solheim, whose role includes overseeing the brand’s women’s initiatives.” “To achieve one of our performance goals of improving the feel of the club throughout the entire swing, we focused on making the clubs lighter overall,” Pauwels added. “We integrated our extensive knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes with our proven design technologies to deliver measurable improvements throughout the set. At the same time, we wanted to present the new clubs in a visually appealing and confidence-inspiring way. We’re extremely excited about the results and look forward to bringing the G Le2 family to women golfers around the world.”

The family includes driver ($435), fairway woods ($270 each), hybrids ($200 each), irons ($137.50 each) and three putter models, the Anser blade ($215), the Shea mid mallet ($215) and the Echo mallet ($270). Each club will be built to order after a custom fitting to determine the exact specifications the player needs.

Tour Edge Adds to the HL4 Family
After introducing the Hot Launch 4 driver and fairway woods last week Tour Edge is now showing the new HL4 hybrids and Iron-Woods.

HL4 hybrids feature a thinner and lighter forged 17-4 stainless steel crown to provide faster club and ball speeds with a design that also has higher MOI, a consistent performance upgrade throughout the entire line. “The HL4 hybrids are as good as it gets because it achieves exactly what I designed it to do: hit the ball long, high and straight,” said David Glod company founder and chief designer. “Get ready for the ultimate launching experience.”

The HL4 Iron-Wood features has a re-designed shape with a thinner forged face for more rebound and distance and Tour Edge says the upgraded distance is about a club longer over the previous Hot Launch Iron-Woods.
Positioning the entire HL4 line as the best value in custom fitted clubs Tour Edge will have over 750 fitting centers and offer as standard 48-hour turnaround time.
The HL4 hybrid comes in 19°, 22°, 25° and 28° lofts in right and left-handed models and retail for $119.99. The HL4 Iron-Wood is available in lofts from 18° to 59° right and left-handed. Each will sell for $79.99 in KBS Tour 90 steel shafts and $89.99 in graphite.

In Case Anyone Should Ask:
In a story we are sure to not have the end of the Jana Partners hedge fund, who own 9.5% of Callaway Golf (NYSE: ELY), has been reported revealing in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing the possibility of getting Callaway to sell its non-core businesses. This could include apparel maker Jack Wolfskin purchased by Callaway for $476 million in November 2018 and its stake in Topgolf plus well-known brands OGIO and Travis Matthew. The impetus is assumed to be that Callaway share price has fallen 30% from its high last fall.
