Fall weather is unpredictable, blue skies of the at the BMW Championship first rounds quickly turned rainy gray with some looking for cover and others with the right covering pieces, delaying the end of the tournament at Conway Lake Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois.
Each player has a four day style script laid out for him, which includes numerous pieces, with a possibility that some will not be worn. They players needed all of their layers for this tournament. On the beautiful sunny days, they were wearing their polos, then as the winds picked up it was time for sweaters, and as it started to downpour on went the rain jackets.
Graeme McDowell makes the BMWs beam with his GMAC by Kartel silver, taupe, and brown leather belt. So does Tiger and Henrik in green with the interesting Chicago skyline poster in the background. In the third round Tiger was already angered as he did not agree with his two stroke penalty and to make matters worse he was paired with his nemesis Sergio Garcia. Lately, Sergio hasn’t made a huge impression with his golf style, but for this tournament the head to toe Taylor Made looked electric with the green stripes in the shirt perfectly matching his cleats on the greens.
Rickie Fowler made his debut in sky blue PUMA Matching the BMW symbol. This seems a little outdated for PUMA, it would have been exciting to see some brighter fall colors, these colors are reminiscent of summer.
Brendan Steele modeling blue steele for the camera, in not steele blue but royal head to toe Oakley apparel and sunglasses having a great time being paired with jokester Keegan Bradley looking dapper as always in Tommy Hilfiger and brand Jordan cleats.
When it became chilly, Keegan put on a gray sweater, but he also happen to be wearing gray pants. It just does not look quite right to wear the same color, or one off shade on the top and bottom. Same with Adam Scott, who wore navy blue pants and then layered a navy blue sweater on top. For a guy that is so good looking he really needs to make his style look the same. An easy way to layer in the fall weather is just wear the same color for your sweater as your polo.
Although when Henrik layered his black and tan vest over his black shirt with tan stripes, it seemed like designs were going in all different directions.
The temps started to drop and the fall layers came out. Ian Poulter wowing fans with his magenta pink sweater, visor, and plaid pants, of course, from IJP Design.
Then finally here is the rain delay fashion, Rory McIlroy doesn’t seem to be bothered at all by the rain, his Nike rain jacket and rain pants seem to be completely waterproof and comfortable. He doesn’t even need an umbrella and takes off his hat too getting his curly locks all wet, perhaps he’s used to the rain being from Northern Ireland.
John Huh seems to be having a good time giving the camera the peace sign in the rain, he wears an Original Penguin short sleeve rain shirt, as the brand is known for their style over their function, he is also standing under an umbrella so the rain shirt may or may not be waterproof.
