Golf fashion shows are held during the PGA Merchandise Shows in Orlando in January and in Las Vegas in August. These are pay to play type of events as many fashion shows are, where apparel companies step up to the trade management fee for runway time flaunting fairway styles.

Pro shops might run with this runway lead and stage a fashion show for their members to introduce new seasonal stock or during their traditional demo days for fun, flare and potential sales optimization.

Golf Fashion 2017 PGA Merchandise Show

While golfing recently with Azucena Maldonado, she mentioned having a couple fashion shows with her Latina Golfers’ Association. Azucena is sparky, passionate about golf and loves to feel fashionable. On a windy day at Danzante Bay, her Pebbles style updo was the only hairstyle on the course that actually held up.

In San Diego at the national conference of the Latina Styles magazine, she spoke about using golf as a business tool and incorporated a fashion show with member and friend, Vivian Ricuarte Sayward of Vivacity Sportswear. Members modeled Vivian’s latest creations including a new line geared to the fuller figured golfer.

LPGA player Lizette Salas

During a brunch meeting at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena, a fashion show featured all the styles sold in that pro shop. One of the Latina Golfers’ Association members is a professional model and gathered her sister professional gal pals for the occasion to parade the carpet in Nike, Callaway, Antigua and more. LPGA pro Lizette Salas, an Antigua Sportswear pro ambassador was honored at this brunch. She is in good company as former #1 world LPGA pro Stacy Lewis, 2016 Women’s US Open Champion Brittany Lang, Gerina Piller and others also endorse the Antigua brand.

Breaking the Glass Ceiling

More Latina businesswomen were honored at the brunch with the Break Glass Award for breaking their glass ceiling with a golf ball. Consider the many occasions that a simple fashion show might enhance the experience of attendees.
