Fabrication plays a prominent role in fashion and styles. How a piece feels to the touch inside and out, how it drapes on the body, how it performs in the elements and after laundering, how it packs on a trip are all points for consideration when engineering and delivering quality apparel. Antigua has always been in the forefront of fabrication design and continues with their Spring 17 men’s collection as they have deconstructed and reconstructed yarn
filaments and spandex composition to perfect the pique fabric. Sean Gregg, Antigua’s Vice President of Product Development and Marketing Support explains, “As this new performance collection sits alongside comparisons to styles of previous decades, a picture wouldn’t do it justice – there’s a need to touch, feel, wear and play it, to truly get a sense of its inherent value.”
Visually the line’s future looks bright, literally. While the Pique Xtra-Lite is offered in 30-plus colors, the main color scheme for the spring line is a distinct saturation of new bright colors, named Cajun, Cabana, Cypress, Mulberry, Marmalade, Harbor and Pineapple. Mixing and blending is par for the course in color styles. Cabana royal is set against Cypress green. Harbor navy offsets Pineapple yellow. Taupe appropriately distinguishes Cajun red. Mulberry embraces Light Cabana blue, and Marmalade orange nostalgically pairs with neutral shades.
Antigua men’s style names are emboldened like each piece. “Endure” is a long lasting configuration. “Adept” is just that at making the fashion statement. “Channel” is what the golfer will do with focus when donning it. Perhaps he will channel the pro within. Ok, it also could be the broad channels of stripes.
While spring ’17 is a blink away, layers are key for fall and winter. Antigua has them covered from the Promenade style to the Tsunami and Arctic Pullovers.WHAT'S YOUR REACTION?
