It was going to be hot and humid at the 35th Myrtle Beach World Amateur. Four rounds of golf in four days determined the winners of 66 flights who would compete on Friday for the grand championship. After each round, beach time was a welcome reprieve before all the fun of the Largest 19th hole at the Convention Center.

How did we pack? We each took what mattered most in a carryon along with our checked clubs in the one finger navigable Sun Mountain Club Glider that won the Northeast Golf magazine “Best” award.

In the carryon were 5 golf outfits (hopeful of making the last round) which take very little space because in the heat and humidity, you don’t need to wear much. Our Antigua Sportswear packs well, needs no ironing, has UV protection and dry technology that looks and feels great. We mix and match from seasons the pieces that feel the very best in hot competition. She feels in good company because of winning LPGA ambassadors. Stacy Lewis was number one for a long stretch and Lisette Salas has battled for first in recent events. Celine Herbin won the French Open wearing Antigua. The luck didn’t rub off but compliments on the cheerful outfits and Sandbaggers Grace silver sandals were consoling.

In case of rain we figured it might feel refreshing so simply packed the cute Raingirl hat for her, and two handed Hirzl gloves for club gripping. After golf, swimsuits and Oofos sandals. Sundresses, shorts and always the Chase 54 Brazilian pants were packed to shine with cute tops for the 19th hole.

In the golf bag a mix of clubs – Ping irons, a Bridgestone Driver for him, G400 Ping for her, Tour Edge Exotics 3 woods and hybrids and TaylorMade putters fitted at Reynolds Lake Oconee Kingdom of Golf, Vice balls for him, Bridgestone and Callaway for her, plenty of tees, markers, repair tools, bug lotion, lip balm, business cards, electrolyte packets, almonds, meat sticks, and energy bars. We were ready and set to have a blast, win or lose. A day at the beach instead of the final round was a perfect consolation prize at the World Am(azing) event in Myrtle Beach.
