Move it in Movetes

Maureen Caruthers, founder of Movetes was a first timer at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando and explained the company’s position. “We honor history and tradition with a contemporary awareness on design and fabrication with international street appeal.“ She has been in the fitness business for 20 years and therefore truly understands athletic movement. She began designing a different top because she wanted a better collar. Her Long Sleeve Cindy Shirt in white herringbone has a collar that equestrians love as well as all active women looking for chic styling.

The Cashmere Paper Dollz sweater and Cut Shot jacket have elegant plackets tailored in. Her pointelle stitch crew sweater was inspired by a trip to Mongolia. It is lightweight and semi fitted with elegant striped rib knit cuffs. This sheer material may be worn on its own with a nude bra or layered perfectly over other tops. The Navy Varsity sweater is a sophisticated twist on a traditional design.

The entire Movetes line of styles sings, “New York, New York” and that is where her talented team resides and designs their unique tops and bottoms.

Several luxurious pants styles complement the array of shirts, sweaters and jackets. A cigarette pant with Italian mid-weight stretch cotton fabric again emphasizes comfortable and fashionable movability. The Tuxedo pant has flexibility built in but still slim fitting in camel or navy with silver circles. Movetes also offers a basic Axis skirt and a wrap around skirt. Plus they brought back the Culotte, sort of. The legs are not quite as wide as they were in the 70s/80s but could this design be close enough to perhaps signal the beginning of a retro trend? After all, culottes were pretty cool back in the day.
