Which Puma golfers will be pouncing on the competition at the British Open this week? Let’s see, we have Jonas Blixt, Graham DeLaet and Rickie Fowler heading to St. Andrews decked out in Puma Golf’s AW’15 collection and all very capable of taking the Claret Jug. Rickie won’t have far to travel, fresh from his Scottish Open win yesterday. They will all be rivaling on the Old Course but their apparel, accessories and footwear will be new.
This season’s Puma collection for men boasts a unique blend of function and style incorporating novelty textures and colors with fabrics and cuts designed for maximum breathability, comfort and optimal performance no matter the weather conditions.
Graham, a Saskatchewan favors the Golf Tech Polo and Tech style pants. Rickie is always a styling standout, placing in the top 5 of all four 2014 majors and this year winner of the 2015 The Players Championship, not wearing his usual orange outfit on Sunday because of the traditional “Pink Out” day at the tournament – in honor of breast cancer awareness and Mother’s day. Rickie’s mom, Lynn is often seen leading his entourage and wearing Puma ladies apparel. She made it her main job to accompany him on junior golf outings, wherever they were held. It has certainly paid off. Normally Rickie wears some component of Orange on Sunday, not because it’s the new black but because he dominated the golf field with his OSU orange team.
This is the collection we’ll see Rickie wearing this week at the British Open along with plenty of layers because you never know about the weather there. Puma golf pants will flatter in black, silver and of course orange. The Titan Tour Polo is engineered with cut lines for the ideal range of motion needed to win. The Road Map Polo Cresting Golf Shirt pulls all of this year’s colors into wide horizontal blocks. Golfers keep their cool with dryCELL technology built into the fabrics. CLEANSPORT NXT natural anti-odor finish means fresh winning hugs. The Solid ¼ Zip Popover jacket with its micro fleece and stand collar keep things equally warm and cool on course. The adjustable bungee at the waist allows for a customized fit while the side panels and logos add an extra dose of style. Belts, hats and Titantour shoes bring it all together.
Rickie winning the Scottish Open and heading to the British Open in Puma style brings back memories of staying in Seve Ballesteros’ room at the Rusacks Hotel and for any of us lucky enough to visit the birthplace of golf, posing on the Swilcan bridge. We all love following Rickie. Husband Danny had the (mis?)fortune of caddying for Rickie in the Notah Begay III Challenge event at Turning Stone. Danny’s hip was out of whack for two years. That’s a heavy golf bag but Rickie’s Puma clothing is light, bright and obviously functioning very well. Let’s see how he pounces in the British Open.
