This past weekend was one for the story books for both Bernhard Langer as well as Vaughn Taylor. On Sunday, Bernhard Langer won the Chubb Classic, giving him his 26th Champions Tour title. Due to the fact that Langer changed to a non-anchored putting stroke, many people assumed that he would not be successful.

Langer states, “Whenever you make a drastic change or a change of some sort, you never know. I’m 58 now, so if you look at the statistics, a lot of guys don’t win when they’re near 60. But I still think I have some good golf left in me and I’m glad the way I putted this week was probably better than I putted many weeks last year when I was anchored.”

Vaughn Taylor also found success after winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which became his first win in more than a decade. Taylor worked hard to come through during this tournament, even after being extremely sick just a week before. It was a close cut between Taylor and Phil Mickelson, until Mickelson lipped out on 18.

Taylor states, “Just absolutely amazing. Didn’t know if it would ever happen again, to be honest. Just lost a lot of confidence, lost a good bit of my game. I just kept working, grinding and kept at it. And I can’t believe it actually happened today.”

Heading into Pebble, Taylor was 447th in the OWGR, standing on 18 with the trophy in his hand, he jumped to 100th and will be heading to Augusta. I’d say that’s a nice move.

So, what were both of these professionals sporting during their historical wins?
