Color and comfort is the theme of the newest Spring 2014 collection at Martin Golf Apparel. The style of the collection is “as timeless as the game.” Owner Rick Martin, founder of Fairway and Greene apparel, found inspiration from classic golfers such as Ben Hogan and Jimmy Demaret and created the line with the help of his daughter, Teri Martin Schleifer.

The secret is the use of a unique knitting style: the elliptical or “honeycomb” stitch allows for breathability and temperature maintenance throughout your round. The two-step process in preparing the fabric before stitching also assists in the areas of comfort and performance.

spring-colllection7[1] Argyle is in for the Spring 2014 collection. The “Hand Linked Pima Cotton Argyle Front Vest” combines fashion and athleticism for the perfect course-to-clubhouse look. The mini collar zip allows for layering: perfect for the spring to summer weather transition. The bright tulip color argyle design with the muted pink detail is a wonderful fit with any of the Martin polos and button down tops. The vest allows for ample movement whether on the tee or on the green.

“Today’s technology has allowed us to identify and source the optimum cotton yarn. It begins with a long-staple Pima cotton fiber–consistent in its longer length–which is spun into our unique yarn and subjected to a refined singeing process. This brings it to life in our fabrics and collars, which we knit at a level more demanding than industry standards,” according to Martin, concerning the goals of Martin Golf Apparel.

Another noteworthy piece in the newest collection is the “Club Stripe Spread Collar Sports Shirt.” These colorful striped button downs are bright enough for an afternoon round on the golf course, yet appropriate to wear to the officspring-collection3[1]e. In pastels such as Leaf, Tulip, Lagoon, Sunset and Hydrangea, these button downs incorporate the effortless feel of comfortable performance and stylistic appearance.

The sizing of each piece allows for room to move, while maintaining a sleek fit. They pieces are designed to draw moisture away from the skin to keep the body cooler during a long round. Martin apparel is designed for all body types. A piece from Martin apparel is a worthwhile investment for a fashionable, appropriate, and colorful round of golf.
