Swing Control

“Consistent golf” is everyone’s goal and an oxymoron for most, but what about “swing control?” If you mean controlling the tempo or arc of a swing, then to most again, yes swing control is an oxymoron. However, when referring to the company, Swing Control, it is a polite way of saying tummy control. Stretch Lycra fabric composed of 76% rayon, 21%nylon and 3% spandex with a seamlessly woven, wide waistband provides midriff control that really works. Ok, it’s not like lipo suction and it is not your mother’s girdle. I still have an image of my mother trying to shimmy into her Playtex girdle on Sunday mornings as she dressed for church after placing the pot roast in the oven to be pulled out and ready for the simmering rich gravy over the potatoes, meat and homemade bread when we returned. Mmmm and hmmm, why the girdle?

No, Swing Control specializes in ladies bottoms only, which comfortably compress the midriff with fabric technology.  Their skorts, shorts, capris, ankles and regular length pants all pull up easily, stay up and feel good. Silver grommets and faux snaps adorn the side hems of some pieces. Styles are available in solids or prints. The tropic pattern is one of the prettiest florals I have ever seen. It is like a Waverly design for apparel with an intricate garden of mixed colors and petal sizes connected by multi textured foliage. Combined with the tummy control it delivers real flower power to the game.

Swing Control suggests ordering a size smaller for greater compression. The fashion trend is definitely tracking for tight fit pants or even leggings on and off the course but how tight is a personal preference. I like the glove fit of my regular size in the shorts and pants.

Swing Control came to my attention in the JW Marriott golf shop during the LPGA Founder’s Cup a few years back and their quality has been consistent with durability built in. They found their niche in the market and stick with it while others try to copy them. Don’t we all want to be in control to some extent? Swing Control allows us, empowers us. Swing Control is not an oxymoron.
