Prevent Pain and Enjoy Better Golf!
There is nothing like walking a golf course and enjoying the great outdoors unless you experience foot or heel pain. Then forget the precious moments, you end up riding in a cart or going to a podiatrist. Advertisements lead us to suspect plantar fasciitis but what about our shoes? There are so many brands and so many different support designs within each shoe.
We ran into podiatrist Philip Wells at the PGA Merchandise show who explained that the pain culprit is often PTTD (Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction). Golf adds another level of stress to this muscle and tendon with the foot fixed on the ground when taking a shot. This muscle works much harder to support the arches of the foot. This extra load leads to tendon damage that can be significant and take months to heal.
We’ve all tried using soft insert and gel foams on the market to no avail. Upstep developed an easy process to customize orthotics for individuals combining the expertise of materials and podiatric diagnosis.
Upstep has created a box filled with special foam that conforms to your specific foot shape. You simply place your foot in the box, stand and make an impression of your foot. The box is then mailed to the Upstep podiatrist and the inserts are received in a few weeks.
Remove the original insert from any shoe and replace them with Upstep. Now any fashionable shoe for golf or the street can be converted to a comfortable shoe that relieves heel pain and sole woes. The difference is really amazing.
Boxes may be ordered from home or from a PGA pro who may consider unique swing position aspects to be incorporated for pairs of orthotics designed just for wearing in golf shoes during play. If you experience pain while playing golf, it might not be the pretty shoes, but the lack of support for your feet in those shoes.
Give Upstep some consideration and your feet might thank you and it just might just help you step up your game.WHAT'S YOUR REACTION?
