At 45-years old, three-time major winner Padraig Harrington could well be the captain of the European Ryder Cup in 2018 or 2020 but he isn’t looking towards retiring from competitive golf. Sunday he won the Portugal Masters with a closing round of 65 to win for the first time on the European Tour in eight years.
He made use of Wilson Golf‘s new model irons, the FG Tour V6 and this is the second week in a row that a Wilson endorser has won. Last week Brendan Steele was the victor at the PGC Tour’s Safeway Open using Wilson FG Tour 100 model irons.
According to Wilson the FG Tour V6s “are an evolution” of the V4 model and designed to provide better players with maximum feel. A 20-gram tungsten weight helps for higher launch without a corresponding increase in ball spin. In the 3-iron through 5-irons the weight is split with a portion near the heel of the sole and on the 6- and 7-irons it is centered in the sole.
Forged from 8620 carbon steel, V6 irons have a nickel-chrome planting with a mirror finish and True Temper Dynamic Gold AMT shafts are stocked.
Release date to the public is January 9, 2017 and the price is $1,000 for a 4-iron through gap wedge set.WHAT'S YOUR REACTION?
