Ryan Moore gave the new club company PXG their second win of the season with his two-stroke victory over Ben Martin at the John Deere Classic played at the TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. This was Moore’s fifth career victory and his first since switching to PXG in January of this year.
Using PXG 0811 model set at 9 degrees with a Matrix prototype shaft, Moore seemed to split every fairway and conceded his performance off the tee was a big factor in his steady play. Maybe steady is an understatement since his ranked number one for the week in strokes gained tee to green and total strokes gained plus a T-1 in sand saves and greens in regulation.
His fairway woods were Callaway Golf XR 16 Pro of 16 and 18 degrees shafted with Project X HZRDUS Yellow 6.5 shafts. The other PXG clubs in his bag were the hybrids (PXG 0317 of 19 and 22 degrees, Matrix Ozik HM3 Black Tie 85X shafts) and the irons (PXG 0311T 5-iron through pitching wedge, True Temper Dynamic Gold Lite X100).
The wedges were PXG 0311T Milled models of 54 and 60 degrees with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour S400 shafts the putter an Odyssey Golf White Hot RX V-Line Fang mallet style. Moore plays a Titleist Pro V1x ball.
James Hahn posted the first win for a PXG staffer at the Wells Fargo Championship in May after a playoff victory over Roberto Castro.WHAT'S YOUR REACTION?
