Best Ball Ever . No Other Ball Comes Close!!!!!
Another not-yet-30 player won this past week with 29-year old Hudson Swafford overcoming a high winds and rain the first two days and a leaderboard packed near the top on the final day to post his first PGA Tour victory taking the trophy at the CareerBuilder Challenge in La Quinta, Calif.
The Lakeland, Fla. native showed steady nerves the final nine holes to best six players near the top with consecutive birdies on 15, 16 and 17 finishing at 20 under par, one ahead of Adam Hadwin who shot 59 in Saturday’s third round.
Swafford plays the Tour B330 ball from Bridgestone Golf which is designed for driver swing speeds above 105 mph. The three-layer construction has a larger, firmer core than the previous model and a steeper softness gradient from the inner core to the outer to reduce spin with the driver. Like all of the premium category Bridgestone golf balls the Tour B330 also has the SlipRes Cover with an extremely high friction coefficient for the best spin around the greens without compromising spin rates from the rough. Plus the cover repairs itself from minor abrasions resulting in longer playability.
To improve flight consistency Bridgestone uses a manufacturing process that substitutes a non-uniform line between the two halves of the cover to eliminate the straight part line of other golf balls. They also use their dual dimple or dimple within a dimple to reduce aerodynamic drag giving a steeper angle off the club and shallower descent angle for more rollout.
Tiger Woods also plays a Bridgestone ball, the Tour B330-S, which has similar construction but is higher spinning for more control with wedges and short scoring shots.
Swafford carries a mixture of clubs from several manufacturers:
Driver: TaylorMade Golf M1 set at 10.5-degrees loft
Fairway Woods: 3-wood Ping i25 14-degrees loft and 5-wood Ping i25 18-degrees loft
Irons 4-iron through 9-iron Ping S55 (2014 model)
Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM6 46-, 52-, 56-, 60-degrees loft
Putter: Odyssey Golf Versa 2-Ball
