U.S captain Tom Watson made his selection Tuesday night choosing Keegan Bradley, Hunter Mahan, and Webb Simpson to complete the 2014 Ryder Cup Team heading into the matches at Gleneagles September 26-28. Although choosing Simpson over Chris Kirk was a bit controversial considering Kirk finished higher in the final Ryder Cup standings and won the Deutsche Bank Championship the day before, Watson went with his gut. “That was a snapshot,” He said about his decision to not take Kirk.
But all three deserve this. “I made no secret how badly I want to go back and win the Ryder Cup,” Bradley said. “This is a redemption year for a lot of guys who were on the team last year.” Also speaking about redemption, Mahan said, “I think redemption is going to be a strong word amongst all the players. Everyone is going to work extremely hard over the next 24 days getting ready for it. We are all going to be mentally prepared for the challenge, because we have a great challenge ahead of us.”
Although it’ll be challenging at times, all three are more than ecstatic, expressing their excitement all over social media along with some others:
