June 16 — New England golfers who act now to purchase tickets to the 2010 Deutsche Bank Championship may also win Green Monster seats at Fenway Park for a Red Sox-Yankees game and a six-day trip for two to Ireland.
The annual championship, set for August 31-September 6, attracts the top golfers in the world, with Tiger Woods among the stars who make TPC Boston in Norton, Mass., a regular stop on the PGA Tour.
Ticket buyers must use MasterCard and order onine at www.dbchampionship.com or over the phone (877-TIX-4DBC) between June 18 and July 4 to be eligible for the prizes. You may also buy tickets at local Stop & Shop supermarkets.
Grand prize. The grand prize for the “Priceless Boston Red Sox Experience” are four tickets atop the left-field wall for the Sox-Yankees tilt on October 1, dinner in the State Street Pavilion, a pre-game tour of Fenway, and a $200 MasterCard gift card. Four first-place prizes include two tickets to a Sox game in September, and those using MasterCard to buy their tickets during the two week period will receive 5 percent off their orders.
Erin go bragh. But wait, there’s more. If you buy your tix online or over the phone, you’ll also be eligible to enter a drawing to win a trip to Ireland for two. The package includes a round-trip flight from Boston or New York and six nights in a first-class hotel.
Oh yeah, golf. The championship itself features professional practice rounds Tuesday and Wednesday, and Thursday’s pro-am. The 72-hole PGA Tour playoff event tees off Friday through Monday of Labor Day weekend.
Golfers play for a $7.5 million purse and a $1.35 million winner’s check. The second of four FedExCup events, the Deutsche Bank boasts Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Vijay SIngh (twice) among its past champions. Steve Stricker is defending champ.
