Dustin Johnson carded two double bogeys in round 3 at the 10th and 18th holes that may prove his undoing this week at the HSBC Champions in China.

Johnson has work to do in the final round as 12 players are within striking distance of the leader and Keegan Bradley is one of them at -9.

Bradley has been on my mind since his play at the CIMB Classic last week. Following Keegan I have noticed a pattern.  Checking his season stats for 2013 he has a tendency to shoot high numbers in events then turning around and winning or placing in the top 10 of events that follow those balloon scores.

In 2011 Bradley finished the Players Championship 72nd winning the Byron Nelson the next week. The week, before his PGA Championship win Keegan shot a final round 74 at the Bridgestone Invitational.  In 2012 Bradley finished 34th at The Open Championship only to win the Bridgestone Invitational. This year he missed the cut at the Players Championship coming back to place 2nd at the Nelson. This year after rounds of 75 and 75 in The Open Bradley come back with a 2nd place finish at the Bridgestone.

Watching Bradley’s play over the past couple weeks I will submit he just might be getting ready to win before this new, extended, schedule of the PGA Tour’s 2013-14 season ends.

Keegan always has his eye on the prize

Another interesting fact I came across looking at Keegan’s record this year. He’s placed inside the top 10 every 5 events he played.
