Other than a few bright spots on the horizon for Team New England it has been a rather ho hum 2014.

Scott Stallings and Jon Curran were winners in 2014. Stallings won the PGA’s Farmers Insurance Open while Curran took the Brasil Champions event on the Web.com Tour.

Those who probably wish they could replay 2014 include J.J. Henry who had his worst season since 2002. James Driscoll lost his PGA TOUR Card after grinding all year only to come up short and outside the magical 125 in earnings.

In the middle was over achiever Keegan Bradley who had a pretty good season when you ignore his performance in the majors. Bradley was TNE’s top earner with $2.8 million and change. While respectable, probably a season Keegan might be looking to eclipse in 2015.

I decided to check the scoring averages of TNE players against the average of the top 5 players on the PGA, Champions and Web.com tours for comparative purposes. The results were as follows:

2014 scoring average PGA TOUR: 69.120
TNE PGA players: 71.245
Strokes behind leaders: 2.125

2014 scoring average Champions Tour: 68.802
TNE Champions players: 71.430
Strokes behind leaders: 2.628

2014 scoring average Web.com Tour: 69.108
TNE Web.com players: 70.284
Strokes behind leaders: 1.176

This little exercise I did to show just how little separates our TNE players from those at the top of their respective tours.

While 2014 didn’t present much in the way of buzz for Team New England players, overall, I have an honestly good feeling about how TNE is going to do in this new 2015 season.
