Norton, MA — Three MGA stalwarts have earned their 2010 PGA Tour cards — believed to be the most ever Bay State natives for a single season. Kevin Johnson, the 42-year-old former Massachusetts Junior Amateur, Massachusetts Amateur and Massachusetts Open champion who played on the 2001 PGA Tour, returns after finishing 13th on the 2009 Nationwide Tour, including wins at the The Rex Hospital Open and Knoxville Open. Fran Quinn, the 44-year old 1990 MGA Open champion, finished 25th on the 2009 Nationwide Tour, including a win at the Albertson’s Boise Open. James Driscoll, the 32-year-old two-time Massachusetts Amateur champion, finished 112th on the 2009 PGA Tour to retain his card; he first earned his PGA Tour card in 2005. His best finish in 2009 came in May when he finished second to Zach Johnson at the Valero Texas Open. While those three players (shown above from left: Johnson, Quinn and Driscoll) look forward to the 2010 PGA Tour season, several other Bay Staters are still eyeing a chance at joining them.
