Team New England’s Keegan Bradley made the 36 hole cut Thursday at the Barclays while Scott Stallings packed his bags after missing the cut. Still in the top 100 players, Scott probably headed to Norton for next weeks Deutsche Bank Championship. He is holding in 90th position in the FedEx standings , advancing to TPC Boston for the second leg of the Playoffs. If he hopes to advance to Cherry Hills and the BMW, Scott needs to dial in on his accuracy problems off the tee.
Bradley has had a couple up and down rounds after an opening round 3 under par 68 Thursday. Friday’s +2/73 was followed today with a -1/70. Keegan, our remaining TNE player at the Barclays, will start his final round 7 shots off the lead, ( -2/211), behind Jason Day and Jim Furyk who are tied atop the leaderboard -9 / 204 at the 54 hole mark.
No less than 27 players are within 5 shots of the lead as the final round of the Barclays develops Sunday. A few of those players include Hunter Mahan, Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Ernie Els and Matt Kuchar.
The FedEx Cup Playoffs continue to be the premier PGA Tour event, (series). Those players who advance are certainly considered the best players in the world of golf. With 100 players advancing to TPC Boston next week, New England will be treated to the best of the best at the Deutsche Bank Championship. Just 70 players will advance to Cherry Hills in Colorado for the BMW Championship and the 3rd leg of the Playoffs. Finally, it’s on to Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club for the finale consisting of just 30 players vying for the $10 million first place check and the 2014 FedEx Cup.WHAT'S YOUR REACTION?
