WHAT'S YOUR REACTION?

October 6 — Remember several weeks ago, when New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft played golf with Randy Moss and shortly thereafter inked his record-breaking receiver to a lucrative, long-term deal?
Let’s make a deal. Oh, wait; that was mega-star and “like a son to me” QB Tom Brady on the links with Papa Bob at Willowbend Country Club in Mashpee back in August. And now, Moss is on his way to Brett (How Can We Miss You If You Won’t Go Away) Favre and back to his first team, the Minnesota Vikings, for a bag of footballs and a helmet. But, hey, it’s one of those helmets with a green dot on it, so that deal has to be better than shipping out the game’s best one-handed catcher of the football for a third-round draft pick, right?
Line it up for us. Sure, the Brady-Moss set a slew of records, but together they never won a Super Bowl, and Moss has lately come across as seriously disgruntled and a bit loony tunes, and he caught no passes in the Pats’ 41-14 drubbing of the Dolphins Monday night. But, please, someone plumb-bob this trade and tell us there’s more to it than trading a certain game-changer for an unknown who may stripe the ball 350 yards down the fairway or get the yips over a one-foot birdie putt.
Either way, with the Boston Red Sox already on the golf course and Boston golfers about to trade in their clubs for the TV remote, Coach Hoodie better display some of that erstwhile Bill Belichick black magic or it’s gonna be a looooong wintah for New England golfers.
