As most of you know The W.B Mason championship in the Symetra Tour is quickly approaching. For those unfamiliar, this is the 17th event within the tour which is the Road To The PGA. On Friday August 14th the event will begin in Brockton, Mass.
The W.B Mason Championship is offering complimentary ground passes for Friday and Saturday. On Sunday the tickets will be $10 and proceeds will go towards Brockton Boys & Girls Club, The Brockton YMCA and The Brockton High School Athletic Department.
There are some players we are keeping our eyes on, for they could really bring some good competition to this championship. Check out a few of the competitors here:
Maude-Aimee Leblanc from Sherbrooke, Canada, is in tenth place on the money list. She is holding on by just a thread, she comments “I know I still need a win or a second place finish, that would really lock up my card…I know South Dakota is going to be a big one, I have my eye on that one.” We are excited to see how she does as the competition moves further.
Another great girl is 18 year old Ashley Ramsey, she is just going to do an amazing job. In the past she had some injuries and had to leave school. With that being said, she is ready to get back out there and show us what she’s got.
Former Boston Bruins great and current NESN broadcaster Andy Brickley played in the W.B. Mason Championship pro-am on Wednesday at Cohasset Golf Club. He played with Symetra Tour professional Haley Italia.
“The great attitude she (Haley) had playing with three guys like us was awesome,” said Brickley. “She is a great player, her bad shots are my best shots…I know what it is like to grind for a living to get to the next level.. There are certain things you have to do whether you like it or not to make it to the highest level.”
