Scott Stallings won the True South Classic after quickly climbing the leaderboard during the tournament with exceptional back-to-back rounds of 64. By avoiding any serious problems on Sunday while grabbing the occasional birdie, Stallings was able to solidify his two-shot victory over Jason Bohn. Claiming Team New England’s first win on the PGA Tour this year, Scott Stallings appears more than ever closer to his form in 2011 when he finished 41st on the PGA Tour money list in his rookie season.
In the words of Billy Horschel (who finished third), Stallings won by doing what any golfer needs to do in order to win: swing the club well and make putts when they needed to. This win means a lot to Stallings considering the turmoil he has experienced so far in 2012 due to various injuries. For that he is thankful as he is now healthy both mentally and physically moving forward.
What’s in Scott Stallings’ Titleist Bag?: Pro V1x, 910D3 driver (8.5), 909F2 fairway metal (13.5), AP2 irons (4-9), Vokey Design Spin Milled pitching (48), gap (52), sand (56)and lob (60) wedges, Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Studio Select putter.
