Keegan Bradley posted an even par 71 Saturday and is 2 shots off the lead after round 2 of the Deutsche Bank Championship, the second event in the FedEx Playoffs. Jason Day and first round leader Ryan Palmer are tied in first place, -8/134.
It looked like Day would break away from the field early Saturday going out -5/31 only to come in +2/37 posting a -3/68 total while Palmer recovered from an early double bogey posting even par 71. His 8 under par 63 Friday was enough of a cushion to remain on top after a breezy day at TPC Boston in Norton.
Matt Kuchar and Billy Horschel fired -5/66 for a 36 hole total -7/135, T-3rd while Bradley is T- 5th with Patrick Reed, Bill Haas, Russ Henley and Webb Simpson -6/136. Jordan Spieth, Martin Kayer, Russell Knox, Seung-Yul Noh and Ben Crane are a shot back T-10th at -5/137. Jim Furyk and Chris Stroud are -4/138 while Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler and Zack Johnson are tied with three others at -3/139.
Scott Stallings, the other Team New England player in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, struggled to make the cut for the final 36 holes +3/145. Scott’s season may well end in Norton. His projected FedEx Rank is 97th after the second round. The top 70 players will advance to Cherry Hill in Colorado for next week’s 3rd Playoff event. From there 30 will advance to Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club for the Tour Championship with the winner taking the FedEx Cup and $10 million winning check.WHAT'S YOUR REACTION?
