WHAT'S YOUR REACTION?

When top golf instructor Michael Breed came to Syracuse, New York, in the middle of a blustery bone-chilling day this past February, his first words as he stood on the stage about to give a clinic to attendees at the NY Golf & Travel Show were, “I don’t see how you people do it.” He meant of course, how could anyone who loved golf possibly survive here when golf shuts down for several months.

Well, some head south for a few months, but most tough it out and may take up skiing while some simply love the weather just the way it is — or live here because of work and family commitments. And there is this: by the time spring rolls around and the tulips fairly rocket out of the ground and the grass turns lush and green, there is no better place to be. So we say, “When it’s golf weather in the northeast, why not live it up.”
