Yakety-yak, you’ll want to walk back and forward, all around the course and beyond in ECCO golf shoes. That is partly due to the yak hide leather, one of the most breathable leathers because it is so thin. ECCO owns their own tanneries and are always doing new things with their leathers. The matted flat finish on the women’s casual hybrid shoe is performance inspired like a sporty car. Sporty shoes do not always equate to pretty but these shoes are available in a rainbow of colors or black or white for universal appeal. Just switch out the shoelaces (extras not included) with any colors to match every outfit in the closet.
Yakety yak, the leather is so soft to the touch that you might think water should be avoided. Quite the contrary, it is the only golf shoe without a seam. That combined with the Hydromax treatment makes it very weather resistant. They inject polyurethane fusing with the upper and outsole to make it even more waterproof. While the leather is soft, the inside has a firm supportive foundation with anatomically molded inlays. They almost seem stiff at first but flexibly break in during the first round to conform and perform comfortably.
My first experience with ECCO was purchasing black comfort shoes at Dillard’s that were my go to shoes for all casual activities. They lasted for 15 years. While that might not be a projection for the casual hybrid golf shoe, durability is ensured by the quality construction. The TPU outsole for example has approximately 100 molded traction bars proven to last longer than rubber. Other styles include the Biom Golf Hybrid, which Caroline Masson wore during her victory at South Africa’s Women’s Open.
