Forget shoveling snow…
and book a flight to Phoenix for a spring fling! The Cactus League ç Baseball Schedule runs 2/22 through 4/1. Choose from over 200 golf courses to play and 10 ballparks to watch the games.
Here’s how to pair them up.
On the west side, watch the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers play in Glendale or the Milwaukee Brewers in Maryvale, the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners in Peoria, Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers in Surprise or the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds in Goodyear. Stay at the Wigwam Golf Resort with 3 parkland courses and check out Verrado Golf Club to play the Founder’s Course and the brand new Victory Course.
In Scottsdale, watch the San Francisco Giants at Scottsdale Stadium or the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies at the Salt River Field Stadium across from Talking Stick Resort with two desert tracks on the reservation where wild horses still roam. The practice facility is extensive or you can tee it up next door at Top Golf, which marries golf games and a nightclub in a very electrifying fashion.
In Tempe, the now Los Angeles Angels play. Stay at the Arizona Grand Resort and tee it up on their fun golf course that ascends into South Mountain.
In Mesa the world champion Chicago Cubs play at Sloan Stadium while the Oakland Athletics warm up for the season at the Hohokam Stadium. Visit the downtown Mesa Museum for a history of the Hohokam and other native tribes. Golf at Longbow where the Symetra tour and collegiate championships are held. East on the 60 is one of our favorite desert stops, Gold Canyon Golf Resort. Don’t miss the wild flowers and hieroglyphics hike above in the Superstition Mountains. Oh and for an affordable option that is not lacking character, play the Superstition Springs Golf Course. It is part of Arccos Golf along with several other valley courses including the Raven Golf Club in Phoenix, which makes a great round before an afternoon or evening flight out of Sky Harbor. Get all you can in. Batter up for your spring fling!
