Cue the drum roll and the 2017 Pantone color of the year is… green! It is greenery to be more exact, described on the Pantone website as “a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.” Their expertise in the world of color seems to be a self fulfilled prophecy. The greenery choice bodes well for attendees of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which has a “green out” on Saturday for fans to wear green anything to show support of recycling and protecting planet earth. This is “the greatest show on green grass” or the biggest party on the PGA tour.

As in nature, green pairs with earthy tones of beige or gray and is very compatible with the rainbow of colors. Who’s got your green going on in the golf apparel world? Just about everybody in varying shades. When you look at nature, there appears to be an infinite number of green hues. Their ladies’ green leans more to the yellow side of the color spectrum while the men’s green reflects olives. An olive tone is the case for both genders on the Fairway and Greene site. Antigua’s Cypress green might be the closest to the Pantone color of the year but still a bit brighter. Since some sites are not updated for 2017 yet, we’ll have to see their true colors at the PGA show in Orlando this month. Whatever the gals’ color scheme, emeralds or jade baubles on a necklace or earrings make a great green accent. Whether we’re talking jewels, apparel, recycling or approach shots, you can’t go wrong with going green in 17.
