You might have noticed a couple of weeks ago during the Masters Tom Watson, who was teeing it up for his final tournament at Augusta, was playing with something that looked like a miniature soccer ball. Well it wasn’t.
It was the new Callaway Chrome Soft Truvis Red and White which he has been playing all year long. Watson has said besides liking the performance of the Chrome Soft ball he believes the color pattern helps his see how much spin his putts have coming off the putter head.
The Truvis is also available in Yellow and Black but both combinations are designed to maximize the view of the golf ball for better focus and visibility.
This is the second year for the Chrome Soft ball and Callaway changed from a three-piece to four-piece with their Dual SoftFast Core they say gives both faster ball speeds with low spin to optimize launch conditions. The four-piece construction includes a mantle layer and a urethane cover designed to help control especially from 100 yards and in. As with the original Chrome soft of last year the compression of the 2016 model is very low.WHAT'S YOUR REACTION?
