What more can one ask for?? As we expand on our theme of lists moving forward, I could not help but to snag this for you. American Dream Courses: Southeast USA, reflecting on the fact that they were perhaps less glamorous but more affordable and I thought you might find it appealing.  After all, who doesn’t want a golf Bar-goon?! Even more appealing was that it leads off with Aiken Golf Club, 25 minutes east of Augusta. It is a long-time favorite and part of the Mountains to Midlands Golf Alliance.  Weekday walking rates are under $25 bucks. The Aiken area of South Carolina boasts a number of other hidden gems such as:
  • The River Club: Set along the wetlands of the Savannah River overlooking the Downtown Augusta skyline.
  • Mount Vintage Golf Club: A 27-hole complex designed by Tom Jackson with its picturesque holes and stonework has been likened to Augusta National by Golf Digest.
Info on these three courses and so many more hidden gems can be found at: www.m2mgolfsc.com It just so happens that we profiled some Florida hidden gems not that long ago: http://travelinggolfer.net/category/unitedstates/florida/
Enjoy the thoughts and bargains presented by Tony Dear and Links Magazine; they feature a couple of other personal favorites, Miramichi Golf Course, once owned by none other than Justin Timberlake in Memphis Tennessee. El Campeon at the Mission Inn Resort and Club – Orlando area ranks right up there with the best in the State and in the $50 range. Enjoy…
