nedmstaffSQAIRZ, the golf shoe company seeing incredible growth through their focus on performance and comfort, congratulates SQAIRZ Brand Ambassador Sepp Straka for being named to the European Team as a Captain’s Pick for the 44th Ryder Cup, which will take place September 29 – October 1 at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, Italy.
Straka has had another monumental year. With his win at the John Deere Classic, placing second at The Open, and finishing in the Top 10 at the PGA Championship—he has distinguished himself as one of golf’s hottest talents, all while wearing SQAIRZ performance golf shoes.
Selected for the 2023 Ryder Cup European team by team captain Luke Donald, Sepp Straka finished the season ranked 14th in the FedEx Cup and 23rd in the OWG. Sepp Straka was born in Austria and grew up in the United States, graduating from the University of Georgia. This will be his—and SQAIRZ’s—first appearance playing at the Ryder Cup.
When asked about being selected for the European Team, Sepp Straka responded, “2023 has been an incredible season for me–with the solid foundation my SQAIRZ have given me, I have never felt more confident. To top it off with achieving a lifelong dream of playing in the Ryder Cup alongside Luke and the best players in the game is an absolute honor. As an Austrian kid raised in southern Georgia, I am looking forward to a bit of friendly competition playing in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.”
