Founded in 1995 by former Golf Digest writer, David Lott, the company pioneered the concept of looking for real estate online and has grown to add www.WaterViewHome.net for waterfront and water view properties (new website coming Fall ’21) and http://www.VineyardOpenHouse.com for real estate of all kinds on the magical island of Martha’s Vineyard.
A Growing Roster
Many of the communities that joined in the early days are still with the site—Reynolds Lake Oconee, GA; The Landings, GA; Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club, FL; Grand Haven, FL; Woodside, SC; Sea Pines, SC; Ocean Ridge Plantation, NC; Fords Colony, VA, and many others. Over the years, these communities (and others) have augmented their championship golf offerings with more amenities to appeal to the wider interests and passions of their new residents. Nature centers, shooting clays, sailing, chess clubs, cooking classes, pickle-ball, yoga, pilates and much more have been added to the activities menu. And when an interest isn’t being served, a query to club management often results in a new activity being added.

Martha’s Vineyard for the Golfer
Surprisingly, there are five golf courses on the 100-square mile island of Martha’s Vineyard, which is located just six miles off the coast of Cape Cod. There are the very private clubs–Edgartown Golf Club and Vineyard Golf Club. And there are the semi-private–Farm Neck Golf Club and Mink Meadows Golf Club.
And then there’s the Royal & Ancient Chappaquidick Links on Chappaquidick Island. (You may need a local to find it.) Featuring nine holes of three and four pars, the Royal & Ancient is one of the oldest courses in the country, having been established in 1887.
All of which means to say that if you’re a golfer, you’ll find plenty of opportunity to strike a ball when you are on-island. Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have made a point of playing golf here, in addition to generations of vacationers and islanders alike.
And if you are looking for a home on or near the golf course, then you can have that, too. In particular, Farm Neck GC features homes in the sections of Waterview Farms and Sengekontacket which comes with tennis and a community dock.
Mink Meadows GC is surrounded by a neighborhood of the same name that comes with its own private association beach. And adjacent to Mink Meadows is the home and condo community of Tashmoo Wood.
