ed travisA new game-improvement category family, the F-MAX Airspeed, has been announced by Cobra Golf, an update of the previous model from 2017.
“Not a single aspect of club design was overlooked when we were trying to maximize the weight savings in this line,” said Tom Olsavsky, VP of R&D for COBRA Golf. “We even use an unpainted shaft with clearcoat and a decal design to save two extra grams of weight over a typical painted shaft. That is a perfect illustration of the level of detail than went into making these clubs as lightweight as possible.”
“For golfers who love the game but just don’t swing it with the same speed they used to, the F-MAX AIRSPEED irons are a great choice, continued Olsavsky. “We are confident that the combination of easy launch, low spin, and increased clubhead speed that these irons provide, will make the game much more enjoyable.”
Available at retail starting Jan. 10, 2020 the series includes models specifically design for men and women.
Men’s F-MAX AIRSPEED
-Driver ($329) – Right (9.5°, 10.5° & 11.5°) or left-hand (10.5°), 40-gram COBRA AIRSPEED shaft in stiff, regular or lite flex. Choice of offset or straight neck hosel.
-Fairways ($219) – Right or left-hand with AIRSPEED shafts (50-gram in stiff, regular and 45-gram in lite flex). Lofts: 16°, 20° and 23° in right and left-hand.
-Irons ($599 steel; $649 graphite) – 5-PW, GW with 97g FST AIRSPEED steel shaft in stiff or regular flex. AIRSPEED graphite shaft 50-gram stiff, 45-gram regular.
-Graphite Combo Set ($699) – Two stock 7-piece combo set offerings with 4H, 5H, 6-PW in regular flex and 5H, 6H, 7-PW, GW in lite flex, AIRSPEED graphite

-Fairways ($219) – Right or left-hand choice of 19°, 23° and 27° lofts. All have ladies flex 45-gram AIRSPEED shaft.
